Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
One of the most sought after vintage goalie mask styles in the hobby, this toffee-coloured bar mask was produced in the 1960s by Jacques Plante's Fibrosport company in Magog, Quebec. This example still retains much of its creamy-white paint job and all of the original interior padding can be found in place. Elasticized canvas Cooper HM7 straps remain attached at five points around the mask. Loads of wear and game use with paint cracking and flaking to accompany dozens of puck marks. Similar to the style worn by Plante with the Rangers and Canadiens, this sensational Plante-made original pro pretzel beauty will make an outstanding conversation-starter.
