Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Coming within one win of matching their record of the previous season, the Montreal Canadiens once again rose to the top of their conference and were named the Prince of Wales Champions for the 1977-78 National Hockey League season. The NHL presented this personal miniature to Canadiens trainer Eddy Palchak as a memento of the 1977-78 season. Four towering sticks rise from the wood base to support a silver plate cup with attached lid. A plaque on one side of the base reads "HRH Prince of Wales Trophy - Edward Palchak". The opposing side is inscribed "NHL Champions - Montreal Canadiens - 1977-78". In excellent-plus condition.
