Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

It took Guy Lafleur a few years to blossom in the NHL but once he did, the "Flower" bloomed each season to the tune of six straight 50-or-more goal seasons! This handsome plaque commemorates Lafleur's first of three NHL scoring titles. His 56 goals in '75-76 led the league, as did his 125 points, six better than Bobby Clarke. The flashy right winger also got the better of Clarke in the playoffs, scoring the Cup-winning goal to help dethrone the defending champion Flyers. Rich wooden plaque in the form of the NHL shield features silvery hockey sticks, a replica of the bowl that sits atop the Art Ross Trophy and an engraved plate with details. Produced recently at the request of Lafleur who has autographed the back in black marker and who has signed a LOA to be included with this wonderful display piece.
