Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
This remarkable lot of 4 official NHL game pucks from the 1950s includes a double-sided Art Ross Tyer/CCM gamer that two Toronto Maple Leafs Hall-of-Famers each put in the back of the net late in a win over Detroit on January 7, 1959. A handwritten note that was originally taped to this vintage game puck and is included indicates that Bob Pulford scored late in the third and Dick Duff added an empty netter - both goals scored with this puck, the last one used in a 3-1 win over the Red Wings. "T3 D1" is handwritten along with "Jan 7" on one of the pucks two rubberized octagonal Official NHL puck crests. Another 1958-62 Art Ross Tyer/CCM NHL game puck has a rubberized crest with no black outline on one side and a blank reverse. A pair of 1950-58 Art Ross Tyer/CCM game pucks are also featured, one with fully intact rubberized logos on both sides and a chip on the edge, the other puck with a tiny nail hole in the crest on each side as well as pencil markings.
