Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Wonderful gathering of photographic mementos from the personal collection of Hockey Hall of Fame member Cyril Denneny. The jewel here is a framed image of Denneny in his Ottawa Senators uniform, measuring 11" x 15". Another large plaque pairs his Hall of Fame portrait by Irma Council with a gold plaque reading "Hockey Hall of Fame, Replica presented to Cyril Denneny by Boston Sports Lodge, B'nai Brith, January 21, 1964". Comes with a letter of authenticity and provenance from the family of Cyril Denneny. Larger pictures included in the collection are of his brother Corb in a Toronto St. Pats uniform, a panoramic image of the Rossdale Lacrosse Club of 1915-16, a shot of Denneny receiving an award from Clarence Campbell, another 8" x 10" image of his HOF portrait and one vintage photo showing Denneny in an unidentified hockey sweater. A group of 50 smaller snapshots capture Denneny on team trips and excursions, posed with members of the Ottawa Senators with a number of shots taken at train stations. A wonderful pictorial tribute to an outstanding player.
