Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
One of the top-scoring left wingers of his era, Cy Denneny topped the 20-goal mark eight times in his stellar career. Although he wasn't the swiftest skater, Denneny used his shot to deadly effect. Much to the chagrin of opposing netminders, he also became one of the first players to experiment with a curved stick. Denneny was the top goal-getter in the history of the Ottawa Senators franchise. When he retired, Denneny trailed only Newsy Lalonde and Joe Malone among players of his era. Denneny was honored by his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1959. Cy's Hall of Fame crest is mounted onto a swatch of ancient felt and framed under glass to a size of over 7" square. In excellent condition with some wear to the frame from years of proud display. Comes with a letter of authenticity and provenance from the family of Cyril Denneny.
