Grant Fuhr grew up in the shadow of Edmonton, the city in which he would later star and assist in the winning of five Stanley Cup Championships. Joining the Oilers in 1981, Fuhr would dazzle between the pipes, winning the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top netminder in 1988. Over nineteen seasons, Grant roamed the crease in Edmonton, Toronto, Buffalo, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Calgary before retiring prior to the 2000-2001 season. Through 868 regular season contests, Fuhr collected 403 wins, including 25 by shutout, and 114 ties. We are proud to offer this amazing goalie mask, worn by Grant during the 1985-86 season while with the Edmonton Oilers. The simple paint job, often touched up or repainted by local craftsman Alphonse Delorey, adds a splash of blue and orange to the creamy fiberglass affair with Oilers logos at each temple and an orange oil drop at the chin. Complete with blue painted back piece and all of the straps, the mask retains the original interior padding, sweatband and football helmet-style chin cup. This one shows great game use with dozens of nicks in the helmet and cage paint and swipes of red and blue board and goalpost paint in spots. A marvelous memento from the years of Stanley Cup glory in Edmonton, worn by a well-deserved member of hockey's Hall of Fame.
