Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
This rare and appealing first-year Kansas City Scouts home jersey was worn by forward John Wright, who appeared in four games with the 1974-75 NHL expansion team. Wright, who also played for Vancouver and St. Louis, failed to record a point in his brief stint with the Scouts and spent most of the season - his last in pro hockey - with the AHL's Providence Reds. "1974" set tag is sewn inside the right rear tail. Vibrant colors are featured in the shoulder yoke and red, blue and yellow bands around the sleeves and waist of this beauty with a size 48 Wilson tag sewn in the neck. Scouts team crest features elaborate cable stitching in the logo sewn onto a triple-twill white-red-and-blue circle. Red bleeding in the white twill of the crest has turned it pinkish. Blue discoloration spots on the front of the jersey are also to note. Despite its light use, the left sleeve displays dried bloodstains.
