This fascinating Maple Leaf Gardens financial records lot spans the period when the relationship between Conn Smythe and Frank Selke ruptured, culminating with Selke's resignation in the summer of 1946. Selke signed 14 documents and his initials appear on one more. Smythe's very pale signature appears on three records. His initials appear on six of his expense sheets, as well as an expense sheet for J. Edward Fitkin. Happy Day signed six documents and initialed one more. Foster Hewitt's signature appears on 19 separate documents while H.F. Bolton signed three records and Fitkin signed four others. Also featured in this lot of MLG records dated from November 1, 1945 to October 23, 1946 is life insurance documentation regarding the policies of Smythe, Bailey, Horner, Apps and Jackson. "The British Treasury Cabinet Binding Case No 12" binder has "No. 12, Maple Leaf Gardens Ltd" and "Journal Vouchers #3411-3692" written on its Grand & Toy label and is housed in its original 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" x 3 1/2" sleeve.
