Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
A definite prerequisite to any important hockey library, author Charles Coleman's work on the history of hockey and Lord Stanley's trophy from 1893 to 1967 is contained within these three black leather-bound books. Only 1,000 copies of this special edition were presented to important hockey figures in 1968. This set, numbered 143, was presented to Kennedy and the bookplate pasted into the first volume reads: "Presented to Ted Kennedy with compliments of the National Hockey League". These highly sought-after books are in their original black casings and are in excellent, tough-to-hope-for-nicer condition. The definitive work on the game of hockey. Obtained from the family of former Leafs' captain Ted Kennedy, complete with their signed letter of provenance.
