Bryan Smolinski wore this memorable L.A. Kings road jersey from the 2001-02 season. Kings GM Dave Taylor has signed a letter of authenticity on team letterhead that addresses the significance of the "AM" patch (in memory of Kings scouts Garnet "Ace" Bailey and Mark Bavis, both victims of the 9/11 terror attacks) on the jersey beside the alternate captain's "A" sewn onto the left breast. The black jersey also features a 2002 NHL All-Star Game patch on the right breast along with documentation from the NHL/MeiGray Group registry. A purple "Los Angeles Kings 2001-02 Set 1" patch is sewn inside the rear hem, the fight strap and laudry tag in the left inner seam remain, along with the Canadian flag "Made in Canada" size 56 fly tag in the neck. The No. 21 is in silver and purple twill on the back and both sleeves while "LOS ANGELES" is spelled out in individual silver twill letters across the front hem. Smolinski's last name is spelled out in individual silver twill letters sewn directly onto the jersey, which exhibits light board burns on the right elbow.
