Peter Dalla Riva claimed his second of three Grey Cups with the Montreal Alouettes in the 1970s when the Als beat the Edmonton Eskimos 20-7 in the 1974 game in Vancouver. Trailing 7-0 after the first quarter, Montreal scored 20 unanswered points the rest of the way in rain-soaked conditions at Empire Stadium. This miniature silver Grey Cup trophy was presented to Dalla Riva by the Canadian Football League in recognition of the team's title. The silver cup has "PRESENTED BY HIS EXCELLENCY EARL GREY FOR THE AMATEUR RUGBY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANADA" engraved on its face and measures just under three inches tall. Overall, the trophy stands approximately 4 1/2" tall as mounted atop its original circular, tiered wood base. The base itself exhibits significant chipping around each of its five edges. A silver plaque mounted on the front of the base features the CFL logo with "MONTREAL 1974" engraved eneath it. The silver on both the cup and the plaque exhibit tarnishing typical of this trophy's vintage. This unique trophy represents one of three Grey Cup champion Alouettes teams of the 1970s and it comes along with Peter Dalla Riva's signed letter of authenticity.
