Absolutely sensational, this collection of 45 "The Ring" magazine covers features 35 originals from the 1930s and 1940s! The sweet science never looked better than it did in the fantastic boxing artwork of C.R. Schaare that graces the 1930s covers, along with original portraits by Stanley Weston throughout the 1940s. M.K. Fleming's Billy Petrolle portrait graces the cover of the May 1932 issue that along with the following month begins this set of Ring covers housed in a large black binder. The November 1933 Barney Ross portrait is the first of 14 Schaare covers spanning the rest of the decade. Two more Schaares from the 1950s include the August 1952 Walcott-Charles cover and his Marciano-Walcott portrait for the May 1953 cover. Whether signing "Stanley" or "Weston", Stanley Weston's artwork graced most of 19 covers from the 1940s, beginning with the January 1940 Armstrong-Ambers cover. Five more 1950s covers and three from the 1960s round out this lot, along with not just one but two complete and faithful reprints of the inaugural February 15, 1922 issue of The Ring. Here's hoping your bid delivers a knockout blow that leaves the competition down for the count!
