You may have seen this familiar team photo of the Stanley Cup champion 1945-46 Montreal Canadiens before, though chances are you have never seen it displayed quite this big, bold and beautiful. This huge vintage print of the iconic Rice Studios team photo is mounted in a
42 x 63 wood frame that was displayed in the Montreal Forum. All the Habs greats from the 1940s are on hand in this shot, with Durnan flanked by the Punch Lines Blake, Lach and Richard in the front row, which is bookended by Irvin and Gorman. Bouchard stands out in the middle of the back row, with Mosdell and Reardon to his left. The image remains in very good condition overall, with a bit of surface damage in the form of minor nicks and some general soiling towards the bottom part of this massive print as a result of its direct exposure. That said, this is a striking presentation of a great Canadiens championship team whose players have plenty of reason to smile. A fantastic and unique display piece for Habs/Stanley Cup collectors.
