The Original Six. Each of the NHL’s six oldest franchises are represented in this outstanding collection of game used 1991-92 specialty jerseys worn by Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, the New York Rangers and Toronto for their season openers, as well as certain other games throughout the rest of the schedule as the league celebrated its 75th anniversary. This colorful collection includes John LeClair’s No. 17 from the Canadiens, Lucien DeBlois’ No. 27 from the Maple Leafs, Stu Grimson’s No. 23 from the Blackhawks, Doug Crossman’s No. 22 from the Red Wings, Joey Kocur’s No. 26 from the Rangers, and a Bruins No. 40 jersey worn by right winger Chris Winnes, who appeared in 24 of his 33 career NHL games that season with Boston. Each of the polyester knit CCM jerseys has the league’s 75th anniversary logo crest sewn onto the right breast, except for the Rangers jersey, which has the crest sewn on the left breast. Five of the jerseys have their original fight straps. Crossman’s has been cut off, leaving a short stub where it was sewn onto the inside back of the jersey at the base of his number. White twill letters spelling out “DETROIT” are sewn onto the front and individual white and red letters spell out “CROSSMAN” along the red line across the back of the shoulders, with the size 52 tag inside having been sewn in place in the second “S” in his last name. Winnes’ name is also sewn directly onto the jersey, which has a few small team repairs, in individual black and white letters and the size 50 and Maska tags have also been sewn over by the inside thread for the letters. Grimson’s jersey has size 56 and Maska tags sewn inside while the LeClair, DeBlois and Kocur jerseys have size 54 and Maska tags. Kocur’s Rangers jersey also has a Cosby tag sewn above the two others. [red]Addendum; Kocur’s Rangers jersey exhibits nice wear, particularly sticks marks on both sleeves and a good board burn on the left elbow. The Kocur jersey will also come with a LOA from Meigray group.
Crossman’s Detroit jersey has blood stains on the right elbow along with some stick marks.
LeClair’s Canadiens jersey is virtually pristine, as is Grimson’s Blackhawks jersey, with so significant wear to report on either. The Leclair jersey will also come with a letter of authenticity from Meigray group. The Grimson jersey was originally purchased directly from the BlackHawks and have their sports registry number inside.
Winnes’ Bruins jersey has a circular team repair on the left elbow, another repair on the black band of the right sleeve just above the elbow gusset and a tiny repair on the back to the left of his No. 40.
DeBlois’ Maple Leafs jersey has a stick mark in the bottom of the “2” in the white tackle twill No. 27 sewn onto the back, along with minor scuffs and board burns on both cuffs. The Deblois jersey was originally purchased directly from Lucien Deblois and will come with a LOA.
