This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Black Jack Stewart contributed solid and punishing defense to Detroit’s Stanley Cup wins in 1943 and 1950. This sensational portrait by artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid shows Stewart sporting the red alternate captain's "A" within a white diamond on the left breast of his red Red Wings sweater. Stewart has autographed the portrait, indicating that he signed it at Toronto's Royal York Hotel on September 13, 1978. This vibrant portrait of Stewart, a member of the Hall of Fame, is tastefully presented in a two-tone grey and white matte and mounted in a 20” x 16” silver frame.
