The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Toronto Maple Leafs fans savor the team’s 1966-67 Stanley Cup win not only because it is the city’s most recent championship, but also because it was such an unexpected and satisfying conquest. Icing a lineup filled with grizzled veterans, the Leafs upset the Montreal Canadiens in six games to claim the final Cup of the Original Six era. This sensational photo and autograph display includes a fantastic team photo and original signatures from eight members of the 1967 Leafs, including Larry Hillman, Ron Ellis, Red Kelly, Johnny Bower, Brian Conacher, Allan Stanley, Larry Jeffrey and Frank Mahovlich. The display includes a silver colored plaque that lists the players’ names and the result of the Stanley Cup final, and two color inset photos, an action shot of George Armstrong checking Montreal’s Leon Rochefort and another from behind Armstrong as the Maple Leafs captain carries the Stanley Cup. Mounted in a 34” x 24” wood frame, the display is presented in a “skate marks on ice” silver matte with blue accents.
