The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Heavy vintage caramel-coloured fibreglass mask from the late-Sixties to early-Seventies. The design incorporates numerous tiny holes at the nose and smaller eye openings with a shorter forehead line. This mask, obviously pro-molded to tightly fit the face of a competitive netminder, still retains most of its original cream paint job and has had a copper-coloured set of stitches painted above the left eye, a tip-of-the-hat to the design made popular by Bruins goalie Gerry Cheevers. Original ancient Cooper-style strapping completes the mask. In excellent condition with slight chipping at the chin.
