This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Like Clark Gillies, his Hall of Fame teammate with the Islanders, Bob Bourne was an outstanding athlete who was good enough to play minor league baseball. Both Bourne and Gillies were part of Houston’s farm system, in fact the two future Islanders were teammates with the Astros’ Appalachian League team. This is Bourne’s Association of Ball Players of America ring. The size 12 ½ gold ring has a blue stone face and “Ball Players Association” around the face with two stars. The left shank has the APBPA logo while the right shank features Bourne’s name with a handshake and a baseball glove over two crossed bats. “Bourne” and 10K are engraved inside the band of this remarkable testament to the speedy left wing’s athletic prowess. It comes along with Bob Bourne’s signed LOA.
