Team Canada recovered from an embarrassing 8-1 loss to the Soviet Union in the 1981 Canada Cup final with an unforgettable semi-final showdown against the U.S.S.R. three years later. Paul Coffey broke up a 2-on-1 threat by the Soviets and Canada followed up that remarkable defensive gem with Mike Bossy’s overtime winner, setting up a final against Sweden, which Canada swept in two straight games. This is the original Canada Cup trophy that was presented to Dr. Ernie Lewis, Team Canada’s longtime dentist. This heavy trophy stands 11 ½” tall with green felt on the bottom of the trophy. A plaque at the base of the trophy is engraved with Dr. Lewis’ name. This fantastic collectors’ item from a great Canadian international victory comes along with
Dr. Ernie Lewis’ signed letter of authenticity.
