This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
The debate lingers on about Team Canada’s greatest international victory. Paul Henderson’s 1972 Summit Series winner in Moscow and Mario Lemieux’s 1987 Canada Cup clincher in Hamilton. Those inclined to choose the latter will treasure the opportunity to lay their hands on this remarkable gold and diamond ring from the personal collection of Dr. Ernie Lewis, Team Canada’s longtime dentist. This classy creation was personalized and presented to Dr. Lewis following Canada’s unforgettable win over the Soviets capped by Gretzky and Lemieux’s final collaboration. Four diamonds are set below a raised white gold image of the Canada Cup that is encircled by “Coupe Canada Cup” on the face of the ring. The left shank of the ring is engraved “1987” with “Lewis” on the right shank. The interior of the band is engraved “10K” along with “MacGregor” on this fantastic size 10 ½ ring which remains in excellent condition. This outstanding team ring from one of Canada’s greatest international wins comes along with
Dr. Ernie Lewis’ signed letter of authenticity.
