Beautiful American Hockey League memento is from the 1984-85 season in which the Sherbrooke Canadiens captured the Calder Cup. Sherbrooke was a “middle-of-the-pack” team during the regular season but got some help for its playoff run; a young lad by the name of Patrick Roy joined the team after being peppered with pucks all season in junior with a weak team in Granby. Stephane Richer was another junior player who joined the team down the stretch and with several other players who would go on to win the Stanley Cup with Montreal the following season, including team captain Brian Skrudland, Mike Lalor, John Kordic, Serge Boisvert and Gaston Gingras, the Sherbrooke Habs, backed by Roy, skated away with the championship trophy. This gold ring to commemorate the victory features a large cubic zircon set into a blue stone with “Les Canadiens de Sherbrooke” encircling them. One shank has a raised miniature of the Calder Cup and reads “Calder Cup Champions’ 1985 AHL” while the Canadiens logo is on the other beneath “Hamel”. Awarded to assistant coach Jean Hamel, the size 9 1/2 ring is stamped “10K” on the inside band and is in terrific near mint condition. An
