Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
Honored earlier this season by the Flyers, Eric Desjardins’s career was marked by a mix of steady defensive play, fine offensive contributions and quality leadership. The only defenceman to ever score a hat trick in a Stanley Cup finals game (with Montreal in ‘93), Eric wore this Nike air-knit size 56 Flyers road jersey during his 15-goal, 51-point ‘98-99 season. Good game use here with two sizeable black stick marks on the front and several more on the sleeves where light burns are present. A big team repair at the left elbow, two big burns on the front hem (near the right seam) and one small unrepaired hole on the back are also to point out. Featuring Eric’s alternate captain’s “A”, the jersey of a respected consummate pro who left his mark in Montreal and Philly will be accompanied by a LOA. Classic Collectibles is pleased, as part of our winter 2007 auction, to offer the formidable game worn jersey collection of Mr. Andy Leff, a young man from Pennsylvania who in recent years went about acquiring some of the creme de la creme, if you will, of gamers put on the auction block. You have to admire Andy's pursuit of the best, donned by Hall-of-Famers and future Hall-of-Famers. Paying close attention to authenticity, he assembled a remarkable collection indeed. Over two dozen tempting offerings are thus available to serious jersey collectors, with Mr. Leff's investments subject, in some cases, to silent reserves. Good luck with these superior pieces.
