Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007

The slash and hook marks from opponents trying to slow the powerful Jaromir Jagr plaster this white knit Penguins home jersey that the young Czech wore during his fourth NHL season in ’93-94 and just a year prior to winning his first of five scoring championships. Size 52 jersey by CCM has “68” added to the company tag in the neck while the reverse has “94”, also in black marker. Countless black marks throughout here, with some blue board paint (left sleeve), a burn and two small holes (right sleeve) and a big scrape in the “8” of the right sleeve also of note. The future Hall-of-Famer applied a black marker autograph on the big Penguins crest on the front, where his alternate captain’s “A” also appears. From a prolific career which has included over 600 goals, the tantalizing jersey will come with a LOA signed by former Penguins GM Craig Patrick. Classic Collectibles is pleased, as part of our winter 2007 auction, to offer the formidable game worn jersey collection of Mr. Andy Leff, a young man from Pennsylvania who in recent years went about acquiring some of the creme de la creme, if you will, of gamers put on the auction block. You have to admire Andy's pursuit of the best, donned by Hall-of-Famers and future Hall-of-Famers. Paying close attention to authenticity, he assembled a remarkable collection indeed. Over two dozen tempting offerings are thus available to serious jersey collectors, with Mr. Leff's investments subject, in some cases, to silent reserves. Good luck with these superior pieces.
