Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
Killer piece of Gordie Howe and WHA history, this Koho 221 model stick, obtained from the former president of the New England Whalers Booster Club, was apparently used to score an important goal, #999 of Gordie’s professional career. It’s actually a Tom Webster stick, with the stamped “Webster” on the shaft blackened out and with Howe’s number “9” added in black marker. Properly taped in Howe fashion at the handle and on the blade, the stick is date stamped “Mar 14 1975” and shows good game use. With a wicked curve, the stick is autographed on the side of the shaft “To Joe Best regards, Gordie Howe” in black marker. In solid crack-free condition and from Whalers head booster Joe Antinerella, the cool lumber will come with a LOA.
