Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
These pre-NHL Spalding pucks are among the oldest and most sought after in the hockey puck hobby, with this relic miraculously still in its original box! The blue and red two-piece box is in excellent condition with no slits in any of the sides/corners/edges and includes “Officially Adopted by the Canadian Amateur Hockey League.” Covering the period just prior to the creation of the NHL, the puck itself features the Spalding logo on the side of the slug. The front and back are smooth, except for the “AC” initials carved into the back. Puck has turned from its original black into more of a grey, with just a few tiny nicks around the edges. Scarce, thought-provoking antique is among the most valuable of pucks and a definite prerequisite to a serious vintage puck collection.
