Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - March 2007
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/27/2007
After six NHL All-Star games and Rendez-Vous ’87, Rod Langway played in his third Canada Cup tournament in 1987, captaining the American team in one of the most exciting international events ever. The hard- working United States team, with a 2-3 record in round robin play, was narrowly edged out by Swedes and Czechs for the final playoff spot. Rod’s air-knit jersey has a CCM/Maska tag in the neck with a now very faint size “54” in ballpoint. Everything is sewn-on including the captain’s “C” and “Langway” across the nameplate. Autographed in blue sharpie at the right breast, the jersey shows nice game use with half a dozen black marks and some red paint transfer at the left elbow, a couple of burns and resulting small holes near the “5” of the same sleeve, stick marks on the front and a good slash/hook mark and two small holes on the right sleeve. A fabulous jersey to add to a Team USA collection, it’ll come with Rod Langway’s signed LOA.
