Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The namesake of the famous Lady Byng Trophy awarded to the "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability", we have a matted display featuring Lord Byng with a desirable mounted signature cut. At 11” x 14” with a centralized modern photo of the Vimy Ridge war hero, a 1 ½” x 3” signature cut has been affixed below, with both attractively double-matted. Dark and without issue, the signature displays extremely well, with “General” written just below and to the right (Byng was Governor General of Canada from 1921 to 1926, helping to possibly date the signature). With just some toning to the cut itself, the display remains in wonderful condition, eagerly awaiting an attractive frame. A COA will accompany.
