Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Ahead of the 2008-09 season, Kyle Quincey signed a two-year contract extension with the
Detroit Red Wings on September 9, 2008. However, with a deep defensive lineup and salary
cap constraints, the Red Wings placed him on waivers, where he was claimed by the Los
Angeles Kings on October 13, 2008. This move marked his departure from Detroit, though he
would later return to the Red Wings in 2012 via trade, solidifying his role on the team’s blue line.
This game-issued white jersey from the 2008-09 NHL season remains in pristine condition,
exhibiting no signs of wear or markings.
Displaying a Reebok brand tag with “54” sizing and a “Made in Canada” designation, the inner
collar also features an attached team store tag. A team authentication patch is sewn into the
hem identifying this jersey as “1st Set”, though no serial number is included.
Designed in the Red Wings’ white away jersey style, this jersey features a stitched-on winged
wheel crest across the chest, reinforced fight strap securely stitched onto the back interior, and
a traditional NHL neckline with the league shield affixed to the collar. The numbers on the back
are red, while the numbers on the arms are white, providing a sharp contrast against the
jersey’s design. Quincey’s last name, “QUINCEY,” is sewn in red lettering across the affixed
nameplate, positioned at the top of the back. His number, “4,” is stitched in red on the back and
white on the sleeves.
Accompanied by a Detroit Red Wings Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
