Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
The 18th overall selection at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Kyle Chipchura spent parts of three seasons with Montreal, and he’s currently with HC Kunlun Red Star of the KHL. We have a pair of Habs sweaters with both home and away examples that were worn by Chipchura during the 2007-08 NHL regular season. Each jersey features size “56” tagging along the collar with handwritten “2”, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, both V-neck sweaters have been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Chipchura” across the nameplate of each in single twill. The home example exhibits fabric pulls over the front and sleeves, along with a few marks over the lower front. The away jersey also exhibits fabric pulls, with a number of marks over the left sleeve. The team patches sit over the inside hems (A01092 Home – A01232 Away), while holograms affixed to the reverse numbers of each (GU11529 Home – GU11537 Away) match the accompanying LOAs from the Canadiens.
