Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
The only set of alternate jerseys donned by the Pittsburgh Penguins during both the regular season and playoffs, we have an example offered, with this photo-matched Pens third jersey worn by netminder Ken Wregget during his second-last season in Pennsylvania, in 1996-97. Center Ice and Starter labeling along with a “58-G” size swatch with handwritten “31” all sit along the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an attractive and textured Pens team crest, the solid black V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Wregget” across the nameplate in textured white twill. With just a few random marks visible including over the team crest along with some pilling to the collar, the jersey remains in wonderful condition.
Getty Image #278467 from April 26th 1997 (Conference Quarterfinals), Getty Image #53126474 (incorrectly dated) and an included and signed 8” x 10” photo have all been matched to the black marks on the left side of the team crest.
