Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Almost an annual tradition for the lone Major League Baseball club based north of the border in the "Great White North", Canada's team, the Toronto Blue Jays has taken the field a total of forty-five (45) times in their forty-eight (48) seasons of play, posting a record of 16-29 over the years. From a marathon nineteen (19) inning contest played on Canada Day of 2016 against the Cleveland Indians, offered here is this jersey worn by first baseman, Junior Lake. A Majestic made offering that sports a brand/"MLB Authentic Collection" jock tag heat pressed over the front left tail, a size "48" designation is also displayed while a similar label is heat pressed over the lower portion of the placket and shows "#48" and "2016" designations plus Lake's number "48". Swapping their usual all-blue uniforms for a patriotic all-red colour scheme, "Blue Jays" is spelt out in dual layer tackle twill letters that have been individually affixed in an arch across the chest while a Blue Jays team emblem is found underneath. Also having had a Canadian flag patch added over the left sleeve and an MLB logo crest over the reverse neckline, the reverse sports Lake's number "48" in dual layer red-over-white tackle twill numerals while "Lake" is spelt out above in single layer tackle twill letters. Displaying game-wear via some staining over the front and reverse plus some discoloration over the lower reverse and sides plus marks over the left side as well, staining exists inside the collar as well.
