Exceptionally productive during his tenure with six 100-point seasons, Joe Sakic is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with over 1600 career points, placing him among the game’s all-time elite. He is also the recipient of the Conn Smythe, Hart Memorial, and Lady Byng Trophies as well as the Lester B. Pearson Award. We have an absolutely wonderful offering with a Quebec Nordiques jersey that was worn by the Burnaby native during his rookie campaign of 1988-89. A Maska Ultrafil label remains affixed to the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest over the reverse hem. Measuring out to roughly a size 52 and styled with a gorgeous Nordiques team crest fully-administered in tackle twill, the solid white garment has been accented with heat-pressed vinyl sleeve and verso numbers, with “Sakic” over the nameplate in matching material. There are also heat-pressed fleur-de-lys emblems over the lower front, reverse and shoulders.
The only season Sakic wore number 88, the important sweater exhibits a number of stick marks across the front, with additional dark marks present from thorough use over each sleeve. Light paint transfer is also visible over the left sleeve near the elbow section, with wear which includes considerable peeling to the vinyl identifiers, primarily the sleeve and verso numbers as well as “Sakic” over the nameplate. Arguably one of the best Nordiques sweaters in the hobby, an LOA will accompany this spectacular garment.
