A standout with TJ CHZ Litvínov for over a dozen seasons throughout the late-1960s and 1970s, Jiri Bubla went undrafted, but spent five seasons in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks. Representing Czechoslovakia internationally at numerous tournaments which included winning gold at the 1972, 1976 and 1977 World Championships, Bubla wore the offered Team Czechoslovakia jersey at the 1976 Canada, where his nation finished as runner-up behind Team Canada (Bubla would register an assist in the second game of the finals). With no labeling present, the vintage tie-neck jersey measures-out to roughly a size 50 and features a multi-coloured shield team crest with embroidered detailing. “19” appears over the sleeves and verso in drop-shadow, dual-colour canvas, with “Bubla” placed over the upper reverse in matching material. Originating from the personal collection of HOF star Lanny McDonald with his signed LOA to accompany, the jersey was most likely gifted to McDonald by Bubla during the jersey exchange that followed the conclusion of the second game of the finals.
Sporting light game-use with what appears to be the original tie-string intact, just a few random marks are visible including between the reverse numbers, with some puckering visible to the numbers themselves.
