A first-round draft choice of the Winnipeg Jets in 1982, defenseman Jim Kyte is best remembered for his large size and determined, physical play. The Ottawa native would spend parts of six seasons in Manitoba, with additional seasons with four other NHL clubs. This Jets jersey was worn by Kyte in 1988-89, his final season with the club where he amassed 190 penalty minutes. Faded Maska labeling is attached to the collar, with the jersey measuring out to a size 56. Featuring the classic Jets team crest in use from 1979 to 1990, "6" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with "Kyte" to the nameplate in single blue twill. The jersey also sports the Goals for Kids patch to the right sleeve, a CCM logo to the reverse hem, and a dual-clasp fight strap. There are marks and burns to the lower front and sleeves, with pilling to the interior sleeves and beneath the fight strap. There is also a large team repair along the seam of the reverse collar. The photo used for this listing shows the correct angled placement of the Goals for Kids patch in correlation with the number "6", the folding marks on it (the patch), and the loose white thread on the top of the number "6" on the same sleeve, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
