His second of five NHL stops made during his Hall of Fame career, Jari Kurri would don a Los Angeles Kings sweater for five seasons beginning in 1991-92, and with Wayne Gretzky, would help lead the club to the 1993 Stanley Cup finals. Originating from his final season in California, this signed and photo-matched Kings alternate captain’s third jersey was worn by the nine-time All-Star in 1995-96. An especially rare style and residing in a private collection for the past two decades, the jersey was originally sold in the March 3rd, 1996, Tip-A-King annual fund raiser, and it was at this time that it was also signed. Center Ice labeling and a size “54” fly tag grace the collar, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the unique crown team crest used only this season, “17” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered twill, with Kings’ team patches over each shoulder. Kurri has signed the team crest in white, with the thin signature presenting admirably. An LOA along with a COR from MeiGray will accompany, as well as the COA from the 1996 Tip-A-King annual fund raiser.
There are dark marks from game use over the front and sleeves, with a bit of red paint transfer near the right elbow and board burns over the upper left sleeve. There are also a few small random stains including over the lower front and right sleeve. The image used on page 125 from the book "Jari Kurri, an Authorized Biography" has been matched to the black mark on top of the "17" on the left sleeve.
