Concluding his HOF career as the highest scoring European-born-and-trained player in NHL history, Jari Kurri was a member of five Stanley Cup championship squads with the Edmonton Oilers and represented his native Finland at every international level. From his time in Los Angeles, we offer this stick used by "The Finnish Flash" during the 1991-92 season. A Koho made Revolution 2240 model piece of lumber with "Kurri" stamped to the upper shaft and his number "17" penned in black marker ink, the stick retains its original black cloth wrapping over both the knob and blade. Exhibiting good game-use in the form of numerous dark marks and other abrasions throughout the length of the shaft as well as over the lower shaft, heel and untaped section of the blade, marks are also seen over both sides of the blade tape as well which is worn along the bottom. With the topside of the shaft sort of rough in feel, Kurri has signed the forehand side of the lower shaft with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue.
Additionally, also included with the lot is a vintage pro on-ice style jersey that has been signed by Kurri. Made by CCM with "Center Ice", size "48" and Maska Ultrafil tagging affixed to the inner collar, the logos of both CCM and the NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with an Oilers team crest in layered tackle twill and featuring pro style elements such as a fight strap and reinforced elbows, the sleeves have been accented with Kurri's number "17" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Kurri" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been sewn directly to the upper back. Remaining in excellent condition with no unsightly flaws to make mention of other than a small dent in the team crest, Kurri has signed over the "7" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue.
