Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Beginning his pro career in Finland with Jokerit, Jari Kurri was signed by the Edmonton Oilers in 1980 and was quickly paired with Wayne Gretzky – a combination that would produce the most prolific scoring pair in history. The original Finnish Flash would spend a decade in Alberta before a season in Italy with Milan in 1990-91. Drafted for 1985-86 and the Stanley Cup championship season of 1986-87, we have Kurri’s official NHL contract, accompanied by an addendum for said contract along with a Player’s Option Contract for 1986-87, with each signed by Kurri and Glen Sather. The Standard Player’s Contract called for Kurri to earn $350,000.00 each season, with 1986-87 being an option year. Each document has been signed in ballpoint, with no issues for the signatures and just light wear to the documents themselves.
