Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A unique oddball item to add to a special Howie Morenz/Montreal Canadiens-related collection is this glass decanter, once owned by the hockey icon who was dubbed "The Babe Ruth of hockey" by American sportswriters. Heavy clear glass decanter, with its stopper, stands 8" high and has "Howie Morenz" acid etched along one side, near the bottom. We can only speculate about what type of spirits were once poured from the piece, but can tell you that it was indeed used and not just stored in a china cabinet; there are small chips around the bottom of the stopper. The decanter also has some very small surface chips on various spots and has some scratching/scuffing to its bottom otherwise it remains in nice condition overall. Your favorite liquor will surely taste great after having been poured from it. Originally obtained from the Morenz family, the delectable decanter will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Cheers!
