Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Growing up in the hockey shadow of his famous brother Maurice, Henri Richard was able to carve out his own successful HOF career, securing more Stanley Cup victories than any other player in history. We have a stick used by The Pocket Rocket during the 1962-63 NHL season, and it’s been team-signed. A CCM Pattern Made Custom Pro model, “Richard” appears over the upper shaft along with his “16”, with the original tape over both the blade and handle retained, with some loose strands over the blade. 18 ink signatures are present including Richard over the front side of the shaft, with deceased HOFers Beliveau, Plante, Moore, Geoffrion and coach Toe Blake. Nice use is exhibited on the lumber, with wear and marks to the lower shaft and blade, along with some paint transfer over the underside near the top of the shaft.
Others who have placed pen to wood on this desirable Richard stick are Maniago, Gauthier, Talbot, Hicke, Rousseau, Marshall, Backstrom, Goyette, Fontinato, G. Tremblay, JC Tremblay and one other.
