Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Founded in 1941 and based out of Wisconsin, Hartland Plastics produced an especially popular set of baseball figurines using mold-injected acetate plastic resin, with each figure then hand painted utilizing an acetate-based paint. Beginning in 1958 with the release of three homestate players (Hank Aaron, Warren Spahn, and Eddie Mathews), fifteen more were added to the line-up in 1960. At approx 8” tall with each accompanied by a bat (three different styles were produced, and we are unsure what bat belongs with each figurine), this collection includes 14 25th anniversary editions from 1988 along with an original Hartland of Rocky Colavito, with the 1988 examples to include Hank Aaron (2), Luis Aparicio, Yogi Berra (2, both with the catcher’s masks), Nellie Fox, Eddie Mathews, Harmon Killebrew, Ernie Banks, Dick Groat, Duke Snider, Roger Maris (both arms are broken off and present), Ted Williams (left arm broken off but present), and Stan Musial. There is also a Lou Gehrig Hartland figure from 1990. The majority exhibit moderate to heavier handling wear, with toning to the uniforms and some wear to the paint.
