Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Truly a piece of hockey history, Guy Lafleur’s awesome 1970-71 Quebec Remparts signed game-used stick is from the Memorial Cup final. Lafleur used this Victoriaville Pro gamer with Remparts red and black striped tape on the shaft and his original black tape job on the straight blade during Quebec’s two-game win over Edmonton in the final. Guy! Guy! Guy! signed in blue ballpoint below the handwritten 4 between his tape job on the knob and the “Rempart” stamp on the shaft. The other side of the shaft has a vintage handwritten notation with the date of the last game when Quebec won the Memorial Cup. Originally from Guy Lafleur’s collection, this amazing stick comes with his signed LOA.
The number 4 Lafleur wore in junior in tribute to Jean Beliveau is part of Guy’s red marker autograph on the side of the shaft with the “Amicalement” dedication, French for “In Friendship”. A clear varnish was applied over the knob and shaft of the stick, which has Victoriaville Hockey Sticks Ltd.” stamps on both sides of the shaft.
