Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015

Known for his under pressure brilliance, Grant Fuhr was definitely one of the greatest modern “money” goaltenders as he was always able to compete at the highest level during the most important of games. This lot features not one or two, but three Grant Fuhr game-used and signed sticks including a Cooper Reactor model game-used in the mid-to-late-1990’s while with St. Louis, a Sher-Wood PMP model game-used in 1989 while playing for the Oilers and a Christian model game-used by Fuhr most likely during his stint with Buffalo.
The breakdown for the signed and game-used Grant Fuhr sticks available in this lot are as follows;
1 – Cooper Reactor model stick game-used by Fuhr. With the original red tape on the blade and white on the knob, “Fuhr” has been stamped on the upper shaft, but this has been partially covered in tape. Good game-use with some dark puck marks on the blade and paddle, with Grant adding a small blue sharpie signature at the top of the paddle. Used most likely in the mid-late-1990s while with St. Louis.
2 – Sher-Wood PMP model stick game-used by Fuhr. Handwritten details on the original and worn taped blade state an Edmonton victory over Montreal 3-0, and it’s dated March 1st 1989. “G. Fuhr” with “31” is on the shaft in factory graphics and Grant has placed a small black autograph near the top of the paddle.
3 – Christian model stick game-used by Fuhr. The original tape is worn but in place on the blade as well as the knob, with great game-use noticeable from lots of associated wear to the taped section of the blade. “Fuhr” is just above the top of the paddle in factory graphics, with Grant adding a small blue sharpie signature to the top of the frontside of the paddle. This stick was used most likely while Fuhr was with Buffalo.
