Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

One of the NHL’s best “money” goaltenders throughout the league’s history, Grant Fuhr will be remembered for standing on his head when the Oilers needed it most. We have a stick used by the Alberta native in 1999-00, along with signed and photo-matched pads worn in 1993-94. A Franklin 8000 model, “Fuhr” factory graphics appear on the upper shaft, with the original tape present over the blade and knob. The pads are Brown Excel models in Sabres colours, with leather patches affixed to each outer side that have been signed by Fuhr in black marker, adding his number. Getty Images #156799562 and #156799555 from Feb 20th 1994 have both been matched to a number of black marks on the outside of the right leg pad.
The stick, used during Fuhr’s time with the Flames, shows good use, with wear and marks to the taped section of blade, with additional marks and abrasions on the shaft and paddle. The pads exhibit nice game-use, with marks present along with wear/rubbing to the leather in spots, especially the lower outside sections.
