Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Only the second team captain in Blues history, Red Berenson captained St. Louis in two different stints, during 1970-71, and again during 1977-78. We have a trio of items that originate from 2011, when the club honoured past stars that wore #7. We have a wonderful original artwork on canvas entitled “Salute to #7” featuring Berenson, Unger, Mullen and Tkachuk, along with a pair of matching Blues jerseys, with each signed by the four mentioned #7s. The 23” x 23” canvas (exposed) depicts the four stars amid a large “7”, mounted in a roughly 29” x 37 ½” frame (no glass). The jerseys are both Reebok models – one medium one large – with partially embroidered team crests along with tackle twill “7s” on the reverse. All four have signed within each 7, and the signatures display well. A signed LOA from Red Berenson will accompany.
The canvas artwork appears to be print on canvas that has been detailed and painted over, with no issues for the frame or canvas itself. The tie-neck jerseys both remain in excellent condition, with no issues for the signatures.
