Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Gordie Howe’s signed 1979-80 Hartford Whalers Koho game-used stick has a “789th NHL Goal” notation handwritten in blue ballpoint low on the shaft. The stick is originally from the Darryl Sittler collection and was gifted to him by Mr. Hockey, who scored NHL goal No. 789 early in the 1979-80 season. Howe’s beautiful penmanship is on display with his “Best wishes, Gordie Howe” bold blue ballpoint autograph on the front of the shaft. His number “9” is handwritten in black marker on the front of the upper shaft below his well worn tape job on the knob, and Howe’s original tape job also remains on the blade, which has nice game wear along the bottom edge. More game use includes black marks and red goalpost paint transfer. Comes with Darryl Sittler's signed LOA.
