Backstopping the Big Bad Bruins to two Stanley Cup Championships in three seasons, Gerry Cheevers would go down in Bruins lore and become an all-time fan favourite for the franchise. Hailing from the period of the late-1960s or early-1970s, offered here is this signed Northland Pro model goalie stick once wielded by Cheevers while tending the Bruins goal. A Northland Pro model that has a “Cheevers” stamp and his number “30” stamped in red over the upper shaft as well as additional stamps for Larsson Industries (mostly covered by the handle/knob tape) and “Woody Dumart and Co. Needham Heights, Mass.” are found on each side of the shaft, a pattern code reading "0605" is found on the underside of the shaft as well. Retaining its original tape job of black over the upper portion of the shaft as well as a black "donut" finished with white over the knob, black cloth wrappings are also found over the entirety of the blade and the upper paddle. Having been signed by Cheevers over the upper portion of the forehand side shaft with a blue marker ink signature that displays well and without issue despite some fading from age, the stick displays moderate game-wear including red post paint transfer over the backhand side of the paddle, puck marks are seen over the forehand side of the paddle and shaft. Also showcasing wear to the tape on the bottom, which is dual layered and dirty over both sides, the shaft of the stick displays darker than the wood of the paddle and there is discolouration/spotting to the hand grip area and bottom edge of the paddle on the forehand side as well.
