Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/21/2022
Retiring after parts of 16 NHL seasons as a result of post-concussion syndrome, Geoff Courtnall saw action in over 1,000 matches and scored just under 800 points. From the twilight of his career, we have a St Louis Blues jersey worn by the Victoria native in 1997-98. Starter labeling with a “52-R” size swatch is affixed to the collar, with Starter and NHL crests to the reverse hem. Featuring a tackle twill Blues team crest with “St Louis” embroidered, “14” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in slanted numerals, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Exhibiting heavy game-use with numerous marks and burns to the lower front and sleeves, there is also considerable pilling, with a number of small holes to the lower left sleeve resulting from board burns. There is also a pair of team repairs over the left elbow. The “Set 1” team patch is screened to the inside hem near a hologram, with an LOA to accompany.
