Surpassed only by teammates Mark Messier, Jari Kurri and The Great One in playoff scoring, Esa Tikkanen was integral to the Edmonton Oilers playoff run in 1988, scoring goals in series-clinching games against Winnipeg and Calgary. The Finnish star would also score a hat trick including the game winner in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals, net an additional goal in Game 4, and a pair in the Cup-clinching Game 5. We are pleased to offer Tikkanen's 1988 Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup championship 14K gold and diamond ring. Size 11 with an approx weight of 35 grams, four substantial 20-point diamonds grace the tableau of this tremendous specimen, representing the Oilers dynasty’s fourth Stanley Cup win in five seasons, the team’s last with Wayne Gretzky as captain. "1988 Stanley Cup Champions" is displayed in raised gold on the bezel surrounding the dazzling tableau with the aforementioned four diamonds encompassed by a bed of smaller shimmering stones. The blue and orange enameled Oilers logo is featured between "Tikkanen" and "10" on the left shank, while the right shank displays "Oilers" along the top in raised letters, with the team's championship seasons listed on four Stanley Cups displayed below. "Balfour 14K" is stamped to the inside band. While the ring does exhibit wear from use including scratches and small dings to the band and shanks, the thought of Tikkanen proudly exhibiting this very prize on his finger as testament to his exploits as a Stanley Cup champion is spellbinding. Hailing from Esa Tikkanen's personal collection, his signed LOA will accompany.
