Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
A product of the Jokerit system in Finland who would be drafted 74th overall by the Dallas Stars at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Esa Lindell has played in nearly 600 National Hockey League games with the team that drafted him as of this writing and has served as one of Dallas' alternate captain's since the 2020-21 season. Helping his native Finland to IIHF World Championship gold in 2022 to go along with his 2014 IIHF World Junior gold medal, offered here is this jersey worn by Lindell while representing his country at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Made by Adidas and sporting a band displaying both size "58" and "Made in Canada" designations affixed to the inner collar, the front and reverse necklines of the jersey have been accented with the logos of the World Cup of Hockey and Adidas respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Team Finland crest that features embroidered details throughout, the left shoulder sports the all-important 2016 World Cup of Hockey event patch while an SAP sponsorship crest appears atop the right shoulder. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Lindell's number "7" in single layer ventilated navy numerals, "Lindell" is spelt out in matching style navy twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Marked with a "1" in black marker ink over the fight strap on the interior, which has also had a Fanatics Game Worn tag numbered "WCOH0571" sewn into it, the jersey shows game-wear via light board burns over both sleeves as well as stick marks at the right cuff and over the lower reverse. A Finnish Ice Hockey Association COA will accompany the piece.
